Requirements for roofs in Switzerland
General requirements
- The roof has been renovated within the last five years or will be renovated in the near future so that planning for a solar power installation can be included.
- The building will remain in use for at least 20 years.
- The roof surface is not overshadowed by trees or buildings.
Additional requirements for flat roofs
- The surface of the flat roof must be at least 3000 square metres.
- The roof can bear an additional load of at least 20 kg per square metre.
- The surface of the pitched roof is at least 1400 square metres.
- This surface may be distributed over a number of buildings on the same property.
- The roof can bear an additional load of at least 15 kg per square metre.
- The roof is predominantly south-facing.
- The inclination of the roof is at least 10°.
